Terms of Use for HomeGearCalc

Last updated: October 31, 2026.

By using homegearcalc.com you agree to these terms. The calculators and the writing around them are free and are provided as is, without a warranty of any kind. Results are estimates. They are not professional advice.

Do not treat a result as an installation

Electrical, gas, HVAC, and pool equipment should be chosen and installed by people licensed to do that work, following the equipment manual and local code. A generator connected to house wiring needs a transfer switch or interlock. Propane appliances belong where the manufacturer says they can run. Carbon monoxide from a generator or a grill used indoors can kill.

Gallon totals are only as good as the measurements you type. Heater watts are a rule of thumb placed next to a manufacturer chart, not a guarantee of temperature. The stocking calculator is the inch-per-gallon rule of thumb. It does not consider species, adult body shape, aggression, or water quality, and it is not a statement that a given fish will be healthy.

Liability

We are not liable for loss or injury from using the site or from relying on a result. We may change the tools, the copy, or these terms at any time. The current page is the current version.
